Alok Industries was founded by the Jiwrajka brothers in 1986 and established as a private limited company.
In 1993, the fate of Alok Industries changed and it became a public limited company with an IPO of Rs. 4.5 crore.
Made possible due to the technical and financial collaboration with Grabal, Grabher Group GmbH of Austria, Alok entered the global embroidery market through Grabal Alok Impex Limited.
After a decade in the industry, a knitting manufacturing plant was commissioned at Silvassa and the annual sale of Alok Industries reached Rs. 100 crores.
From the years 2000 to 2004, Alok Industries Limited branched out into the bed linen segment and further into Spinning, Weaving, Processing and Garmenting segments. These additions multiplied the turnover more than three times in the span of four years.
In 2006, Alok Industries was awarded with a silver TEXPROCIL trophy for being the second highest exporters of home textiles.
In 2007, Alok Industries Limited launched a domestic retail brand ‘H&A’ and turnover reached a total of Rs. 1,800 crores. Alok Industries acquired a 60% stake in the Czech textile company, ‘Mileta’.
2008 brought Alok Industries a stake in the UK retail chain ‘qs’ AKA Store Twenty-One and four awards from TEXPROCIL – gold, silver, bronze and a special achievements award.
Having a firm standing in the textile business, Alok Industries decided to expand business by venturing into real estate, cotton farming, international investments, and integration of polymer and terry towel segment under Home Textiles.
Alok Industries completed 25 years of their corporate journey, with a turnover of more than Rs. 6,300 crores and brought in the much-deserved IMC (RBNBQ) Award which was accorded with the status of ‘Recognised Star Trading House.
The integration of Grabal Alok Impex Limited completed on 1st March, 2012 came with two gold trophies for global exports in fabrics category and made-ups category. Alok Industries also successfully achieved expansion of polyester production to 1400 tons per day.
Alok Industries Limited accomplished single largest shipment of 2 million sheet sets for the Black Friday promotion at Walmart which was in addition to their annual requirement.
Over the course of the past two decades the primary ‘Strategic Business Units’ of Alok Industries namely yarn, home textiles and apparel & fabrics encompassed more than 10 business units. Effective since the latter half of FY-2020, ‘Reliance Industries Limited’ is the promoter of the company.
In 2021, Alok Industries Limited expanded its presence worldwide and catered to a customer base across 90 countries with a family of more than 24000 employees.
